Lisa K. Blatt is a photographer based in San Francisco. Her work is made in extreme landscapes, from the deserts of White Sands to Antarctica, which she visited in 2008 on a National Science Foundation grant, and a high altitude lake in the Andes, where in 2012 she worked alongside scientists testing a planetary lake lander.
Using both traditional cameras and borrowed scientific instruments, she looks for what sits at the edge of visibility: heat, low light and subtle tonal shifts. Her work has been exhibited on six continents.
